YMCA Ski & Sports Swap

Buy or sell new and used downhill & cross country ski equipment, snowboards, boots, clothing, ice/in-line skates, sports equipment, camping gear and more! Event proceeds help support teen programing at the Stevens Point Area YMCA.

Want to sell? Equipment check-in is: Friday, November 9th, 5:30 – 7:30PM and Saturday, November 10th, 8:30 – 10:30AM.
Enter through the Briggs Street doors for easier access. All items are priced by the seller, with 85% of sale returned to seller.
All items not sold are to be picked up from the YMCA between 2:30pm and 4:30pm on Saturday.
Obsolete downhill ski bindings are not allowed in the sale and will be verified at check-in.
In general downhill ski bindings older than 10 years do not make the indemnified binding list. However kids bindings and certain brands do last longer.

Frostbite Road Race and Winter Walk

Join us for the Annual Stevens Point Area YMCA's Frostbite Road Race and Winter Walk. Choose between a chip timed 5 mile or 10 mile run, and a non-competitive 5 mile walk. Entry fees for the 5 mile run, 10 mile run and 5 mile walk are: $25 for individuals $22/person for families of 3+.
Late registrations will be $35 for individuals and $32 for families.

Free Ski Day at Standing Rocks Park

Cross Country and Down hill skiing will be open and free to the public, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. People of all ages are encouraged to enjoy a free day of skiing. Beginners and experienced skiers welcome. There will be no charge for tow tickets and for those without equipment, there will be a limited amount of free equipment rentals available for use, on a first come, first served basis. A warming house, complete with fireplace, will be available. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.

During days off school, keep your kids active and engaged with a day trip to Camp Glacier Hollow. Preregistration is required, so sign-up your 8-12 year-olds now.

Fall and winter activities including snowshoeing, sledding, animal tracking, snow fort building, and warming up with a cup of hot cocoa in our Welcome Center.

The YMCA provides transportation to Camp Glacier Hollow, snacks, camp activities, equipment, and amazing camp staff. A “What to Bring” list will be provided and includes items like a bag lunch and warm fall/winter clothes. A signed Permission Slip/Health Form is required upon registration.

Drop off your kids at the Y for check-in, 7:30-8:45 a.m. Pick up your kids at the Y, 4:00–5:30 p.m.
Y Members $36/person/day, General Public $42/person/day

2018 SERVERS CAMP

We are offering NEW serving clinics for 2018 to help our campers make strides in one of the most important skills in volleyball. In today’s game, there is an incredible emphasis on developing the serving skill. It is essential to be able to serve consistently and aggressively to improve a team’s chance of winning, and stats can prove it.

Serving camp is designed to develop the fundamentals of serving for beginners to advanced campers. Campers of all experience levels who want to get better at serving are welcome!

Groups will be broken down by age and skill level and will work on proper serving mechanics. We will teach the standing float serve and jump float serve.

During camp, we will breakdown of the techniques of serving, including individual skills and strategies. You will leave this camp a better and more confident server…guaranteed!

Kids Walk Wisconsin

The Kid's Walk Wisconsin takes place primarily as a trail walk, safe for kids up to 10 years old and is stroller friendly for the real little ones. It is coordinated by the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum. The distances are 1/10th of the adult marathon and 1/2 marathon routes (2.6mi and 1.3mi.). Treats and fun along the way and at the end.

Walk Wisconsin

Held annually the first Saturday in June each year, Walk Wisconsin is the premier walking event in the Midwest! This is a non-competitive event, encouraging walkers of all ages and ability levels. The full, 1/2 and 1/4 marathon events utilize the scenic Green Circle Trail which passes the Wisconsin River, Plover River, several lakes, and unique ecosystems. The trail base for all routes include a combination of wood chips, crushed granite, road surface and wood boardwalk.

Stevens Point Running of the Flag

Stevens Point Running of the Flag is hosting its annual 5k Walk/Run Pet Friendly event on the 4th of July. All proceeds raised during this event are donated to Portage County Veterans Relief Fund. In 2017, we were graciously able to donate $4525.00 to this fund. Come dressed in your favorite Patriotic outfit and remember to carry your Flag. Spectators Welcome , there will be raffle tickets sold for baskets donated by Businesses. Register early to Guarantee a shirt. Thank you for your support.
