Kids Walk Wisconsin

The Kid's Walk Wisconsin takes place primarily as a trail walk, safe for kids up to 10 years old and is stroller friendly for the real little ones. It is coordinated by the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum. The distances are 1/10th of the adult marathon and 1/2 marathon routes (2.6mi and 1.3mi.). Treats and fun along the way and at the end.

Free fishing weekend. Bait and poles provided or kids may bring their own. Catch and release torunamen 9-11am. Lunch and prizes to follow 11-noon. T-shirts availible for the children.
To get an approximate number for food and shirts, please register with teh portage County Sherriff office by May 20th.

Free Pancake Breakfast & Camp Open House

Come on out to Camp for a free family open house and pancake breakfast. Activities include canoing, kayaking, archery, and hiking. Divepoint Scuba Paddle & Adventure Center will also be onsite providing free kayak demos!!! Breakfast begins at 9:00am; tours from 10:00am - 12:30pm. The open house and breakfast are free of charge and a great opportunity to visit before summer camp programs start. Breakfast pre-registration is required by Friday, June 2, as space is limited.

Walk Wisconsin

Held annually the first Saturday in June each year, Walk Wisconsin is the premier walking event in the Midwest! This is a non-competitive event, encouraging walkers of all ages and ability levels. The full, 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 marathon events utilize the scenic Green Circle Trail which passes the Wisconsin River, Plover River, several lakes, and unique ecosystems. The trail base for all routes include a combination of wood chips, crushed granite, road surface and wood boardwalk.

Special Olympics Wisconsin State Summer Games

Celebrating our 38th year in Stevens Point on the UW- Stevens Point campus, the State Summer Games hosts aquatics, athletics (track & field), soccer and power lifting competition to nearly 1,500 athletes from across the state. 640 coaches and 600 volunteers help make the event a success year after year! In addition to sports competition, State Summer Games also provides free medical exams to athletes through Healthy Athletes, and athletes have access to an eye exam, a dental screening and hearing exam, in addition to health education stations. The event is free to attend and spectate!
