CANCELLED- Artha Yoga and Meditation Retreat


Experience green living at Artha Sustainable Living Center and Bed & Breakfast, situated on a 55-acre plot of woods, fields and organic gardens. Get your year off on a tranquil note with a two day yoga retreat, where guests will participate in sessions of yoga and guided meditation interspersed with workshops
on living in harmony, breathing techniques restorative yoga and more. Stay onsite to enjoy a serene sanctuary in the renovated farmhouse, sustainably operated with solar power and heat.

Sessions of guided meditation will be interspersed with workshops on chakras, breathing techniques and restorative and vinyasa flow yoga. You will receive handouts on meditation techniques, yogic breathing techniques and yoga posture flows. Stay on site and experience the full inner centering of this renewable energy oasis. We are located in the beautiful country of central Wisconsin.

Two nights stay included in the stay on site fee as well as breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings and a catered lunch Saturday and Sunday and a catered dinner Saturday. Participants will enjoy free time to explore trails in the wooded hills and open fields.

CANCELLED - Walk Wisconsin

Held annually the first Saturday in June each year, Walk Wisconsin is the premier walking event in the Midwest! This is a non-competitive event, encouraging walkers of all ages and ability levels. The full, 1/2 and 1/4 marathon events utilize the scenic Green Circle Trail which passes the Wisconsin River, Plover River, several lakes, and unique ecosystems. The trail base for all routes include a combination of wood chips, crushed granite, road surface and wood boardwalk.

NEW THIS YEAR - Professional Timing!
Stevens Point Running of the Flag is hosting its annual 5k Walk/Run Pet Friendly event on the 4th of July. All proceeds raised during this event are donated to Portage County Veterans Relief Fund. To date, we have been able to donate $19655.00 to this fund. Come dressed in your favorite Patriotic outfit and remember to carry your Flag. Spectators Welcome, there will be raffle tickets sold for baskets donated by Businesses. Check-in time starts at 7:00 A.M.  Thank you for your support.

ICE CREAM RIDE & SOCIAL: 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm - start at Hostel Shoppe

The Ice Cream Ride is 10 miles. Ride on your own (no mass start) to King Cone. Maps provided. Call the Hostel Shoppe for Sag Support. Includes a $5.00 ice cream coupon.

SOCIAL HOUR & CATERED DINNER: 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm - in the big tent next to the Hostel Shoppe

RALLY HOURS: 8:00 am to 9:30 pm

STORE HOURS: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

REGISTRATION & CHECK IN: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm at the Hostel Shoppe.

MORNING TOURS: Mass starts at the Hostel Shoppe.

8:00 am start for the two longer routes (Approximately 60 and 40 miles).

9:00 am start for the two middle length routes (Approximately 20 and 10 miles).

10:30 am start for the short route (4 mile Rich Johnson Family Ride).

Enjoy routes with sag wagon service on each route. Marked routes will be east of Stevens Point on lightly traveled roads. The Hostel Shoppe and the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County combine efforts to provide an excellent Saturday tour complete with marked routes, sag wagon service, rest stops and port-o-potties.

VENDOR FAIR & DEMO AREA: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Hostel Shoppe in the parking lot

Industry reps will be on hand to answer questions, and there will be a select fleet of rally demos that can be purchased on sale and a lap track for test rides.

SWAP MEET: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Hostel Shoppe.

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT: 5:30 to 9:30 in the Hostel Shoppe Tent

Featuring local favorites the Spicy Tie Band! The STB contains charismatic and entertaining members. This rock ‘n’ roll party band utilizes multiple lead vocals and a multitude of different instruments, including trumpet, saxophone, harmonica, multiple guitars, keyboards and various percussion instruments to gain the attention of audiences everywhere. This is one group that truly has FUN performing! Each member adds a unique aspect to the band’s appeal; this allows the band to be very entertaining to listeners of all ages. The music selection is derived from popular hits from an array of decades.

PaddleQuest 2020: Next Level

PQ 2020 Next Level will start and finish at Buklolt Park. After race festivities and camping will be available at Lakeside Bar, 736 Old Wausau Rd- where spectators may also congregate to witness various challenges as well. New this year is the Scout class. Interested in questing but looking for a shorter paddle? The quest needs you! Scouts will be racing through a course and finding flags and returning to the start. The scout challenge will take about 2-4 hours.

Class A Questers are teams of three (can be individual kayaks or any combination)

Class B Questers are teams of two (can be individual kayaks or any combination)

***This event is held on the open water. Individuals that cannot swim or do not have the required skills should not participate. Participants must wear approved flotation devices at all times during the event on the water. Participants must have all neccesary gear items. PaddleQuest volunteers do not distribute alcoholic beverages. Participants 21 years or older may consume alcoholic beverages but do so at their own risk—Drink responsibly and save the party for the shore when the race is over.
